Alex Mustard的Bali攝影集

明天出發去tulamben,雖然這是第五次造訪巴里島,不過,對三個月沒潛水的人來說,的確有點小興奮!正在觀賞Alex Mustard的Bali作品集,與大家分享。

May I ask is this the Tulamben resort you had just visited ? I am thinking of a trip there myself.

YA!! Cadiver, this is the best resort because of the location and diving service.

The guide called "Wayang" has great eyes for critter. Be sure to dive with this guide.

If you decide to go, tell Wayang you are Jenny's friend. Tell him what you need for macro photos, he will help you a lot.

Great thanks Jenny ! Is it far from Jimbalan ? BTW, do you use a focus light for your macro shots & what kind if you do ? Also do you position your strobes close to the port or far away when you shoot those tiny critters. Try to steal some of your knowledge :-)
Thx!

Hi Dominic,

Tulamben Tauch Terminal resort is about 3hours drive from airport. I guess it is 3.5 hours from Jimbalan. ( i know what you will do in Jimnalan. Yummy food and great Spa over this area!)

I use focus light which is called Fisheye HG20DX. When i took macro, i always keep my flash far away my subject or far away from my camera through adjusting them underwater.

Cheers,

Jenny

Wow! 3.5 hrs from Jimbalan, it's long bus ride then !
Some finds the Fisheye battery charging problematic, what's your opinion ? I am considering the HG20DX vs. Hartenberger Nano at the moment too. Thx!

P.S. I should switch to email or something instead of stealing the comment area for Q&A ....

Hi Jenny,

I ask about your strobe position on macro shot last week. I'm reading others (BrantD) today that said putting the strobe close to the subject instead.

I am interest in learing what reason behind different approaches and can you share your idea please ?

BTW, do you have any issue w/ the Fisheye's battery charging ?

Thank you again !

Hi Dominic,

The lighting position is accroding to our experence. No rule, just because you can adjust by yourself underwater. I uses SB800 with INON Z240. It has higher GN value and i like more dark space than all light space. I uasually shot subject down to up with partial light...We all like "contrast""artistic" moodness!!!

Maybe compare the photos with mine and BrantD, you can get your conclusion and your style.

打燈牽涉到自己的閃燈與機器,還有當時的環境,沒有固定位置,拍攝時常常調整才會有好照片喔!儘量遠離被攝物只是小妹經常的做法!

There are no problems with fisheye focus light. I have two batteries for change after two dives. 換電池的時候,只要注意朝下轉開,就不會有水跑進去觸點(說明書有寫),大多數是因為方向錯誤,導致觸點進水!

Cheers,

No! I heard from my friend who dove with them before. They have a local great guide called Made who can help you find "Tiger shrimp" in Seraya.

I think this is a good diving center!

Thanks! Will have to figure out a trip to get out there. :-P

Hi Jenny,

Just read this on DigitalDiver about the FishEye's light blub. Is it true about it's short life span ? Thx!
